About

"Gopal - Pramila Memorial Trust" is non-profitable, charitable organisation dedicated to the well-being of humankind. The Trust was established in memory of Colonel late Gopal Bahadur Khatri and Mrs. late Pramila Khatri, wife of Colonel late Khatri. It is an independent registered charity dependent upon self-generated funds and donations.

With the sole aim of raising funds for noble cause, eldest son of the late Khatri couple, Major General (than Brigadier General) Ramindra Chettri released two musical albums, "Jiwan Sundar Cha" (meaning life is beautiful in English) Volume 1 and 2, in 2013. Total sum of Nepalese Rupees 3 million was donated to the Trust. The trust also collects its funds from many generous, kind hearted donors of the society. The Trust plans and looks forward to expand its international outreach in the coming days with the expansion of its areas of assistance.

Willing people can donate funds to the Trust's account at Sanima Bank or contribute with other services by sending them to the Trust's address. All donors will be provided official receipts, and will be acknowledged on the Trust’s website and in the annual report.             

The Trust is run by a steering committee from its founder members, Annual General Meeting is held every year. To make the fund transparent, the fund is regularly audited by certified Chartered Accountants.

Mission
To assist in improving the living and social conditions of the underprivileged, needy and disaster affected people in society.

Aim
To strive in making a meaningful effort in easing life of needy and underprivileged people in the community through educational grants, health services and other possible humanitarian assistances.
Agenda

    • As Nepal is vulnerable to natural disasters such as earthquake, flood, landslide, fire etc., the trust assists in bringing the lives of such disaster affected people to normalcy by providing humanitarian assistances. Similarly, depending on the availability of fund, the trust plans to conduct different types of support activities like construction of temporary shelters, support in clean water distribution etc. to specifically identified areas during the post disaster phase.
    • Substantial number of rural population in Nepal is dependent upon agriculture. These people are prone to spinal injury working in farms. In addition to this, the uneven landscape, old and unmaintained vehicles plying on poor conditioned road, untrained and inexperienced drivers are the main factors leading to increase in vehicular accidents. In addition to this, there is significant number of Nepalese Army personnel suffering from spinal cord injury, mostly during the internal conflict of Nepal. In this context, the trust has been contributing in making the 'differently-abled' individuals' lives easier by providing wheelchairs and other supportive aid materials.
    • The trust also provides basic health services support and various welfare and social services to those who are unable to afford due to poor financial condition or to the elderly homes.
    • Along with this, the trust provides educational grants to those intelligent and dedicated children who/whose parents are financially unable to support themselves/them for further study. Similarly, the trust supports the educational institutions by providing teaching materials and
    • sporting items with the aim of assisting children's all round development.
    • The trust has also made a significant contribution in improving lives of the poor, elderly, underprivileged, needy and disaster affected people by providing various welfare, social, medical, educational supports and humanitarian assistance. Thus, encourage them to live an honored and dignified life.
